Im Back

Not sure if anyone cares but I am sorry that I have been away.  I had a small surgery that has kept me out of it for the past couple of weeks.  The last time I stayed in a a hospital overnight was when my son was born and he is just about a teenager.  Aside from the lady yelling at the top of her lungs in the room across from mine and the dismal food, I am soooo glad to be home.  All is well on the home front.

Weather in the Bay is so unpredictable so when we have 75degrees or higher, after having a week of gray skies and sprinkles, I like to get out.  I decided to head to Lake Merritt to enjoy the view and the breeze.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

And I'm Back...

So Lately....

I have been wanting to get my nails done (acrylic/gel).  I go through these moods where I want semi-long acrylic nails and when I want my little nubs.  I enjoy both.  With the acrylic I feel that they add a bit of femininity to my daddy look-alike hands (thanks pops!) with my own nails I  have the freedom to change the polish and be creative on my own.

I found a few designs that i liked (I may not presonally wear but I like).  The goutier the better!

 What do you think?

I really like these.  pic via here
Nail design has come full circle from late 80's and early 90's.  I love when designs do that.  When I decide on which design works for me and my style I will do a post.

Hope your having a wonderful day!

The boo and I went out to dinner and decided to stop and catch a few pics before we were too full to focus.   Again I can't get enough of the Bay Area.

Sunday Grown-Up Brunch

This Sunday was a perfect day.  I got to enjoy not only great food, but great company and great weather.  If your from the Bay Area then you probably know about Lakeshore Cafe.  They have one of the best breakfast, brunch, and lunch selections.  After eating we decided to take a few pics.  Hope you like.

I went visiting today and I wanted to feel like I put a little effort into my outfit.  I have come to realize that I have a thing for lace.  Not sure why but I think its a timeless pattern.  Lace has been around for ages.

Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday, especially if your in the bay with all that's going on.

Guess What I Just Found?

MY WAIST!

Who would have thunk I have been doing it wrong all these years?  I was completely confused with my waist and my hips.  And let me tell you it makes a great big difference when you discover the correct way to wear a skirt is not the same way to wear a pair of  pants.  After getting dressed this morning I looked in the mirror and realized that I just did something right.  This is part of the reason I have steered clear of wearing to many skirts.

I really thought your waist is where your pants sit and there for that's where your skirts should sit.  I have declared to properly wear my skirts the correct way from this point forward.   I love a pattern pencil skirt but I am a sucker for a plain old solid color.  It leave room for a very complex top without creating a confusing outfit.Below are a few that I can't wait to try.

I love the extra-(un)ordinary pattern of this skirt (is that a word?). I also love that this can be dressed in so many different ways.
Collection Pencil Skirt in Photo Floral

I know I may sound old fashion when I say I love a skirt that skims the knee.  I don't know why but to me it reads classy and sophisticated.  Don't get me wrong there is a time and place to where a mini but its something about the knee length pencil that has my fashion heart.
No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Graphic Print

Isn't the mirror image on this skirt absolutely amazing.  There are so many colors that can be pulled from this but I think I would wear a crisp white button up as not to compete with the print.
Etro Printed Stretch-Crepe Pencil Skirt

I love how J.Crew paired this one with a denim shirt to make it office appropriate.  Switch the top and shoes and add a clutch you have your happy hour outfit in the bag.
Collection No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Color Block

The classic of all pencil skirts! The leather pencil skirt is a must have in the closet for this fall!
(To find a cheaper version then this one try thrift stores and your mom's closet)

What are your thoughts on this.  Have you discovered your waist?  What are some of the ways you accent it?

Thanks for reading.
